Congratulations to our Member of the Month!

Elizabeth!
Elizabeth’s Story:
Elizabeth first came to our studio in December 2019. Diagnosed with both Scoliosis and Osteoporosis AND two compression fractures in her spine in the previous year, Elizabeth was looking for ways to exercise that would help improve her conditions, without further injury. Walking just didn’t cut it anymore.
After a conversation with studio director Shirley, she decided to give Private Pilates a go. Elizabeth felt it was the best way for her to get the tailored program and the personal attention she needed to exercise safely. Her instructor, Kirralie, helped to calm her fears about exercise, and listened attentively to Elizabeth’s needs. Her confidence grew, and Elizabeth’s loved the way Kirralie safely pushed her out of the comfort zones.
Eventually, Elizabeth felt confident enough to try group classes! She loved the fact that she never felt pressured to do what everyone else was doing. She learnt through her private session with some amazing instructors, Elizabeth could do a different exercise if the movement wasn’t right for her body.
When lockdown forced Leap to stop in-studio classes, Elizabeth was initially quite worried. “I felt as though I was just starting to hit my stride,” she admits, “I didn’t want all that good work to go to dust.” But with Zoom Privates and “homework” given by her instructor, as well as the group Virtual classes, Elizabeth was able to maintain much of her incredible progress!
Since the studio reopened, Elizabeth has now started to add DIY sessions into her weekly workouts, which gave her more time flexibility to schedule workouts when life gets in the way of attending group classes. “It’s a great option if you can’t make it to a group class,” she reckons.
Congratulations Elizabeth for working through thick and thin with us! We can’t wait to see how you’ll continue to achieve!
