My name is Shelina, and I work as a consultant.
I first came to Leap last year, looking for a place to exercise for my mental wellbeing. My job as a consultant keeps me really busy and it’s also stressful, which doesn’t help with my anxiety.
I’ve had anxiety for a while, and at times it can be hard to keep on top of; I’d even get panic attacks, and they were terrible. So I googled the best ways to manage it, and found the same information over and over again: exercise and meditation were key to managing anxiety.
I have a little app on my phone that helps me meditate, but I really struggled to find exercise that worked for me.
I’d tried a number of different ways to get moving (working out at home, signing up to the gym as well as online programs), but nothing was effective and I didn’t have the motivation to keep up with it. This meant that my stress levels remained high.
However, when I joined Leap, the staff were great at motivating me to get moving!
The people here really sets the studio apart. The members here are really friendly. The instructors are super knowledgable and put a lot of effort into making the classes feel like you’re doing different things every day.
My body feels like it’s exercised after each class, and yet I don’t feel like I’m struggling through ‘another’ gym session during the class.
When I come to class, I always feel really good afterwards.
My stress levels have lowered so much, that my partner and family have all noticed how much better I feel. I’m glad that I’ve taken the time to invest in my health now with Leap.
People are also commenting on how good I look as well, that I’ve toned up and lost weight, which is a great side benefit.
Looking after my mental health has always been a difficult part of my life, but with Leap, I’m able to manage my stress levels more easily. I recommend to anyone who wants to get on top of their mental health to come to Leap Health and Wellbeing to enjoy working out, and the results that come with it!
