Congratulations to our  Member of the Month!

Kevin!

Our chat with Kevin –

Leap: What motivates you to exercise regularly?

Kevin: Well, that is a good question.  Maybe its my wife’s encouragement…but then I’ve always tried to exercise regularly.  One way or another I have participated in sporting or physical exercises for as long as I can remember, from rugby union, soccer, squash, road and cross country running, bush walking, sailing, cycling and kayaking as well as a fair dose of aerobics and gym activities.  Never at a high level I might add for I was or am more or less average at everything I did.  I just enjoyed exercising.

In my opinion age should not deter anyone from undertaking some form of physical activity as it helps you both mentally young and to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Leap: What personal goals are you working on?

Kevin: Learning French is one at the moment and planning our next Australian and overseas adventure.  Plus trying to do 4 or 5 Leap classes per week, currently Barre and Reformer Pilates.

Leap: What impact has regular exercise had on you?

Kevin: I have no idea, hopefully it helps keep me reasonably fit and mobile.

Leap: What would you say to everyone else looking to start the same journey?

Kevin: Start now, don’t put it off until ‘you have time’ even if it is just a walk around the block each day.  Leap provides the perfect place to start.  So my recommendation would be to make an appointment with Shirley and set some goals.  And no, she did not ask me to say that!

Leap: We’d also like to take a photo of you in class 🙂

Kevin: Mnnnn, I have a nice one somewhere when I was 21, will that do?
