Congratulations to Charmaine and Sangee on their 1000th visit!

Someone has done it!

This dynamic duo (and friends from work) have been added to the Leap Champions 1000 wall – congratulations, Charmaine and Sangeetha!

1,000 visits means these 2 have been attending 5 classes a week for 4 years straight; and it equates to 50000 minutes of exercise, which is absolutely phenomenal!

So what’s driven them to this tremendous achievement?

Charmaine’s Story

chatswood fitness pilates studio member

“I’m preparing for the next decade for my body.”

Charmaine was one of our founding members at Leap when we opened in January 2018.  Back then, she wasn’t in a good place physically or mentally, having not prioritised herself for decades.  When she turned 50, she decided to do something about it.

Initially she came in a couple of times a week, and slowly built up to attending classes six days a week, prioritising movement as an essential, and therapeutic, part of her day.

She credits Leap to her newfound strength, her happiness and her growth as a person.

She loves all her instructors for the dedication, their creativeness in classes and their approachable demeanour.

She loves the welcoming atmosphere of the studio, and the encouragement that she gets from her new friends, instructors and other members at Leap. ‘There’s a camaraderie here,’ she described.

The time that she spent investing in herself and her body has paid off.

‘I’m preparing for the next decade for my body,’ she explains.

Her amazing journey and commitment have also affected her family.  While she credits exercise to being able to ‘operate better as a mother and as a wife’, she has also inspired her sons to exercise regularly, to reap the benefits that she herself has experienced.

‘I feel like a different person.’

Congratulations, Charmaine!!  You’re a remarkable inspiration to everyone in this studio with your perseverance, strength, commitment and wonderful attitude that you bring to every class.  Well done!

Sangeetha’s Story

“No matter the class, I’m going to have an awesome time!”

Sangeetha (or Sangee to all of her Leap friends) is the second member to reach 1000 visits on our Champions wall, and has an incredible story to go with it.

Sangee hadn’t done any exercise for 4 years before joining Leap in Feb 2018.  Prior to discovering Leap, Sangee liked one-on-one personal training but didn’t like the gym atmosphere.

As Leap isn’t a gym, and in the same building as her work, she decided to take advantage of our “new studio” specials – and has never looked back.

When asked about her favourite classes, the first thing she exclaimed was “I can’t have just one favourite! Can I pick a couple of them?”– and then went on to list MOST OF THE CLASSES on our timetable.

She loves the variety of classes because they improve her strength, flexibility, cardio, meditation skill and mindfulness.  According to Sangee, “no matter the class, I’m going to have an awesome time!”

500 visits champion

To Sangee’s delight, her friends and family have all commented on how much weight she has lost, and how much slimmer she is around her waistline.  “It felt great when they said it.  And I haven’t looked like this in years!

For those of you who haven’t yet joined Leap, Sangee has some advice:

“Just go for it. You’ll get all the attention you need. Don’t hesitate, just go and get the experience yourself!”

And for those of you who feel 1000 visits is too far away, this is what she says:

“Don’t worry about the volume of classes you do, it’s about how much you love the exercise.  Being a Champion is just a perk!”
